What is a Sacramento County Special Business License?
Many different types of businesses that operate in Sacramento County are required to have this license, including people who come to your home: haulers, landscapers, cleaners, and more.
To get this license, a business must undergo a background check with the Sacramento Sheriff’s office that includes fingerprinting of the business owners. Sacramento County created this requirement to keep consumers safe and combat illegal dumping. When you invite someone to your home, they gain sensitive information and have access to you and your family.

Square 1 Home and Hauling is a Sacramento company owned and operated by a husband and wife team of Sacramento natives. We live and work here, our children go to school here. We are invested in improving our community. We donate useable household items from our jobs to a local organization that provides them free of charge to those who need it, or to the organization of your choice. We sort and recycle everything we can from our cleaning and hauling jobs. Square 1 isn’t just a job for us, it’s a community effort.

Why Square 1 Home & Hauling?
Square 1 Home & Hauling came about as a natural extension of what we both love to do. Matt loves to clean, declutter, and drive. Jennifer loves to plan, organize, and help people. We both grew up with fathers who were small business owners and we always dreamed of opening our own business. As our children grew and we worked our respective careers, we constantly nurtured our dream. When the time was right, Square 1 was fully conceived. The idea of a company that could help with a variety of things centered around improving peoples lives through bettering their home and property spaces made sense for us. We are homeowners, and we know all the tasks that go into maintaining a home. Both of our fathers have passed away, and we have helped with the needs that our mothers and other family members had with properties in their absence. As a single mom a decade ago, Jennifer moved 5 times in 5 years with two young children. We both have helped our family with their rental properties and understand the challenges both landlords and renters have. Square 1 came from these passions and experiences and more. It is an authentic way for us to work together helping our community that honors what we know and love. We thank you for the opportunity to share our vision with you.
